Horses
Equestrian events have always been a part of the Chudleigh Show
and prove to be one of the most popular draw cards at the Show
for both spectators and competitors. The Chudleigh Show exudes
a lovely, relaxed country atmosphere, perfect as a first show or
just and enjoyable outing for the seasoned exhibitor.
Events at the Show are designed to encourage riders who are
new to showing. Showjumping is kept at a lower height and
is useful for riders wishing to introduce a young horse or
perhaps return to the ring after a long spell.
The Fancy Dress class is one of the most popular classes,
with up to 20 entrants the Judges decision is always very
difficult.
The most prestigious awards are 'Supreme Champion Ridden
Horse' and 'Supreme Champion Hunter Horse', hotly contested by
the section winners. The Showjumping includes the
Chudleigh Show Championship, the highest jumping of the day.
Hacking events are very popular with the inclusion of 'local
classes' to encourage riders from the immediate district.
Leading rein and intermediate rider classes ensure that even the
very young or the inexperienced riders and horses have a chance
to compete.
The schedule is regularly updated as we aim to cater for as
many riders as possible as well as keeping up with the latest
competitions. We would like to thank the following for
their ongoing support of the Equestrian section
